Jeeves And The Wedding Bells

With the announcements in June of the Jeeves & Wooster stage play Perfect Nonsense (click here for details) and the BBC’s decision to commission another series of Blandings (click here for details), it has so far been a real ‘Summer of Wodehouse’ – which, coincidentally, is the title of a campaign by publishers Random House to “build up anticipation and excitement” for the launch of Sebastian Faulks’ J & W novel, Jeeves and the Wedding Bells, in early November.

The campaign started in July and will culminate at the launch at Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair on November 4th. It features the re-issue of eight PGW novels (as voted for by members of the Society) in a new livery, with in-store displays, all the usual online and social media, and reading group events.

On the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of August, sampler leaflets will be handed out in parks and markets round London, and there will be appearances at the Soho Literary Festival and London Cocktail Week. Sebastian Faulks will appear in person at the Cheltenham Festival at the start of October, and the Guildford Literary Festival at the end of the month, before the launch.
