May 24 to October 27 – Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense

Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense by the Goodale Brothers is playing all summer at Theatre by the Lake on Derwent Water in Keswick, Cumbria. Book tickets here.

September 17 – Society meeting

At the Savile Club, 69 Brook Street, Mayfair, London W1K 4ER. Meetings start from 6 pm. Note that gentlemen must wear jackets, ties are preferred and no jeans or trainers are allowed.


September 30 – Richard Burnip’s Wodehouse Walk

Richard Burnip will lead a Wodehouse-themed walk for London Walks (note: this is not a Society-sponsored event). The usual fee is £10 but our members get a discounted price of £8. No need to book a place; just be at Exit 2 (Park Lane East side) of Marble Arch Underground station at 2.30pm and identify yourself as a Society member.


October 4 – A Cradle of Writers

From 6.30 - 9.00 pm, at Dulwich College: a Cradle of Writers. Patrick Humphrey, Simon Brett and Tom Rob Smith will be in conversation with Dr Joe Spence, Master of Dulwich College. They will talk about Dulwich alumni who achieved literary distinction: PG Wodehouse, Raymond Chandler, CS Forrester, Dennis’s Wheatley and Booker prize winners Michal Ondaatje and Graham Swift. October 11 – Dinner at Gray's Inn

Every two years the Society holds a formal dinner and, of late, these have been at Gray's Inn. Further details and application forms will be in the June 2018 issue of Wooster Sauce.


October 13 – Wodehouse in Wonderland

At 4.00 pm, Blenheim Palace: Wodehouse in Wonderland by William Humble. Actor and writer Robert Daws gives a performed reading of a new play based on the life and writings of P G Wodehouse with musical accompaniment featuring works composed by Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Ivor Novello and Wodehouse’s lyrics. October 19, 20, 26 and 27 – Leave It To Psmith in Eynsford

Leave It To Psmith will be performed by the Riverside Players in Eynsford, Kent on October 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 7.45 pm. Tickets are available here.

The Whitefield Garrick Society perform “A Damsel in Distress” by PG Wodehouse and Ian Hay next May. Details are here. Director, Andrew Close, hopes to meet members attending.
